Interview is an oral discussion between two persons. Depending on this definition there are many types of interview. A conversation between a journalist and a politician is also called an interview. Here, I am going to talk about a most common but most crucial and important type of interview commonly termed as Job Interview. According to the Oxford Dictionary a job interview may be defined as an oral examination of an applicant for a job or place in an organization. And when there is the term ‘Exam’, we know it is something serious and you have to prepare for it. The following is a list of interview tips to be kept in mind before and during the interview. These interview tips can be divided into two groups:
Preparation before interview:
Applicant should prepare for the interview along with the pre-exams. In most cases the syllabi of technical skills are the same.
Go through the Job Profile and Requirements, the company or organization is hiring for.
Consult persons already have gone through the procedures. It would be better, if possible, to take some interview tips from candidates previously interviewed for the same job profile in the same organization.

You must know your week points. Practice again and again.
During the Interview:
Don’t take it as a test. Think of it as a discussion to find whether the combination of you and employer is reliable or not.
One of the most important parts of preparations for interview is your work portfolio. Make an index of the documents in the portfolio. Include every document related to your achievements and key skills. You CV or Resume may also be included in your Portfolio.
Know as much as possible about the organization or company.
You are not the only one who has to be questioned. You can also put some genuine questions. Make a list of questions you want to ask to the interviewers.
You should use your interviewer’s name when answering a question. But don’t think of it as a necessity.
Your outfit plays an important role in building up your personality. Your dress, footwear and hairstyle should present you as a Professional.
There are also some ‘Don’ts’ that can be counted as interview tips. Don’t bring any device like mobile phone with you in the interview room. Don’t use Gum and Goggles for confidence issues.
When possible show the appropriate documents relative to the questions. It is the best way to show your talent and skills to the interviewer. It can change the pace of the interview. It also helps setting up the interviewer’s mind and in making decision.
